Yesterday we made a trip around the village with two visitors from Ireland. I captured some pictures during the day.
Gelu and Tudor wait patiently with the carriage.
Neighbours pass with manure and new window frames.
A traveller and his horse climb past us with blocks of lime for sale, used to make whitewash.
We pass a cart of hay travelling in the other direction.
At the blacksmith's, we can choose between a stove and having a horse shod. The blacksmith is very versatile in the range of things that he can make, repair and do.
On the way back, we ford the stream rather than take the bridge so that the horses can drink.
Back at home, a very hairy and rather grubby Pintea is being used for a shoeing demonstration.
The views of the passing carts/scenery are just so cool and different, like living in decades or more in the past. Who is the person in blue jeans and vest with Pintea? I ask only because her dress is more in code with todays way of dressing when I compare to others you have shown. Just curious.

Callie, she is a lady from the town who had come to learn about hoof care, along with her husband and a friend. It's nice to se all the horses at work, though I wonder for how much longer?

Wow- if we could get a load (or several dozen!) of that hay here in the southeast! That looks beautiful!
Terrific photography. Learning about the culture there is always interesting!
Thank you for the time and effort you put forth to educate us here!
