I'll try and find a photo of the Dutch version to post. It's interesting to see the similarities in set up, including the storing of hay above the stables, but the architecture would be totally different of course.

Yes, I heard some cases like this. There maybe be different reasons like the owners want to secure their horses from thieves, or they want their horses to feel the same comfort that they feel. Either way, the house and barns must have a strong, durable divider and proper ventilation. That way, there will be a good circulation of air inside the horses stable. Thus, avoiding bad odors from terrorizing your home.
