It doesn't rain every day! No - just most days. Anyway, the deer were out en-masse at the weekend. They stared at Brena and I. Brena stopped and stared back, giving me time to take a zoom photograph from a quarter mile away. Although the herd was curious, one of the deer watching us didn't bother to get up. The roe deer will run if a stranger gets too close, however they aren't as fearful as the timid little muntjaks. Indeed I was intrigued to see a hare sitting close by the deer run off upon sighting us, whilst the deer remained.
The long dark evenings might keep me from riding - neither Brena nor I particularly enjoy school work - however I am putting them to good use. Lately that has meant a lot of guitar practice, some of it with a metronome in order to inject a little discipline into singing and playing together. Otherwise I tend to speed up. And there has been that bed of nails which is learning barre chords. This is difficult, perhaps because I should have learned guitar thirty years ago when my fingers were more supple. At least now stubbornness is on my side.
How wonderful to see so many fallow deer together like that!
